Candace was born and raised in Arlington, MN and graduated from Sibley East High School in 1999. She attended South Central Technical College and graduated with a degree in Dental Assisting in 2000. Upon graduation, she was given the opportunity to join the team at Norwood Dental and has been a valued member of the team ever since.
Candace has come to appreciate many things about working with the team at Norwood Dental. She enjoys the challenges of ongoing learning and the focus on continuing education. In addition, she appreciates the state of the art technology found at Norwood Dental as she understands that it equates to better patient care. And she enjoys being a part of a team with the common goal of continually striving to provide the best possible dental experience. She finds great joy in working with children and loves to teach them proper dental care techniques.
Candace currently resides in Sibley County with her husband Phillip and two children. When not at work, she enjoys running and has found a new love for weightlifting & triathlons. She also has recently enjoyed taking up photography as a serious hobby.
Amy grew up in Gibbon, MN and graduated from Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop High School in 1988. She received a bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Minnesota in 1994. She accepted a part-time position with Norwood Dental immediately upon graduating. This quickly became a full-time position as the demands for Amy’s services grew. She is proud to continue to see many of the same patients she started her career with. Her friendly, fun and ambitious nature makes her an irreplaceable team member.
Amy has been with the team for over 20 years and cites many reasons for her continuing dedication to Norwood Dental. She values the advantages enjoyed by the patients as a result of technology not commonly found in other facilities. She also recognizes the strong leadership and commitment to excellence exhibited at Norwood Dental and shared by the team. Most importantly, she appreciates being a part of a team that places the patients needs above all else.
Outside of dentistry, Amy life is filled with many activities including aerobic exercise, strength training, singing, church activities and spending time with her family. Her weaknesses are chocolate and any coffee. She is married and blessed with two children, the family dog named Chip, and resides in Sibley County.
Angie attended Minnesota State University-Mankato and graduated, with honors, in 1997 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She grew up on a dairy farm south of Gaylord, MN and currently lives just outside of Arlington, MN with her husband and three beautiful and energetic kids.
Angie has been on the Norwood Dental team since 1997. She is very proud to have been a part of this team through the years and participate in the growth of the practice. She also contributes to the world of dental hygiene as adjunct faculty at MSU-Mankato teaching clinical dental hygiene.
Outside of the office, Angie volunteers at her children’s school, St. Paul’s Lutheran, in Arlington. In addition to marketing and promotions, she does dental health presentations in the classrooms, and helps with bake sales and concessions. She also helps out at her church. She also likes to run, lift weights, shoot hoops with my kids, snowmobile, ride four-wheelers, and play volleyball. She loves to jet-ski and could see herself golfing more once her kids are older. Angie enjoys watching her kids play their sports (basketball and baseball). Another “hobby” is shopping. She says she excels in “strategic mall-exploring.” On Sundays during fall-winter you will find Angie dressed in purple with her eyes on the TV watching her favorite team – the MN Vikings (She absolutely LOVES football!)
Debbie, Dental Hygienist
Debbie grew up in Minneapolis and now resides in Sibley County. She attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with honors in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene.
Debbie strives to make her patients feel welcome, comfortable, and well educated about their dental health. She is delighted to be part of such a dynamic hygiene department and team at Norwood Dental, because they share her values of high quality dentistry, outstanding service, and staying up to date with continuing education.
Outside the office you will find Debbie spending time hiking and traveling with her husband, walking their dog, gardening, beekeeping, enjoying a good book, and volunteering for her church.
Jordan grew up in Norwood and has always known that she wanted to pursue a career in dentistry. She earned her degree in dental hygiene from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
In addition to teaching about dental health care in the office, Jordan also enjoys going out to classrooms at Central High School to help students learn about oral hygiene. Outside of dentistry, Jordan enjoys reading and spends time outdoors hunting and fishing.
Nyssa grew up in Stearns County and graduated from Rocori High School in 1994. She received a Bachelors Degree in Community Health from Mankato State University in 1998. After working the health field for four years, Nyssa returned to school and attended Normandale Community College. She received her degree in Dental Hygiene in 2004.
Nyssa is proud to be part of the team at Norwood Dental. She feels that the dynamics of this team set them apart from other dental offices. This office wants the best for their patients.
Outside of the dental office, Nyssa enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys running and walking their chocolate lab Ally. She and her husband reside in Carver County.
Kayln, Dental Hygienist
Kalyn grew up in northern MN. She attended Moorhead State Community College and graduated from the dental hygiene program in 1998.
Kalyn is a mother of 13 year old twin boys, Jacob and Joshua. She is an EMT for the small town of Lafayette. She drives a good distance but working with the doctors and staff is worth the drive.
Besides being an EMT, in her downtime she loves being outdoors and enjoying nature. She likes to go deer hunting, hiking, scuba diving, riding her Harley, traveling the states and camping.
Barb was raised in Waconia, MN. She actually discovered her interest in dentistry as a patient of Norwood Dental. In 2004 Barb joined the team ad Norwood Dental and attended Minneapolis Community and Technical College in the dental assisting program.
Barb enjoys being a part of the dental practice that constantly pursues the latest technological advancements.
Outside of the office, Barb enjoys running, biking, and spending time with her family, grandkids, and friends.
Rachel was raised in Cologne, MN and graduated from Central High School in Norwood Young America. She attended Hennepin Technical College in Eden Prairie where she earned a degree in dental assisting. Immediately upon graduating in 2000, Rachel accepted a position at Norwood Dental and has been on the team ever since. She is proud to be on a dental team that not only provides a warm and friendly atmosphere, but also provides the latest technology and cutting edge dentistry.
Rachel resides in McCleod County with her husband and two children. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, camping, biking, and spending time with family and friends.
Char has been with Norwood Dental since 2007. She graduated from Minneapolis Community and Technical College in 2006. Char enjoys the opportunity to work with today’s latest technology and also enjoys building friendships with patients at Norwood Dental. Char resides in Belle Plaine, with her husband and daughter and their Weimaraner. They love camping and enjoying the outdoors during the warm months.
Karrie has been with Norwood Dental since 2005. She is proud to be part of a team that strives to remain a leader in cutting edge dentistry while still providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patients. Karrie lives in Belle Plaine, with her family, and also has a Golden Retriever “Brutus” and 3 cats. Outside of dentistry, Karrie enjoys the outdoors in all seasons.
Jan grew up in a small farm town in southwestern Minnesota. After graduation from Slayton High School, she attended Willmar Technical College for her Administrative Assistant Degree, which led her to a position at a mechanical contracting company company in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She received her Associate Degree from Ridgewater College in Sioux Falls while maintaining her full time position for the mechanical contracting company in Sioux Falls.
In 1988, Jan moved from Sioux Falls to Norwood/Young America with her husband and sons. Shortly thereafter she was employed at Norwood Dental as scheduling coordinator and gradually moving into her current position as Business Manager. During this time, she has gained a vast amount of knowledge in the dental field. She enjoys her many responsibilities as business manager and is excited to participate in assisting patients in achieving their dental health wants and needs. Jan is proud to be a member of the Norwood Dental team because the team constantly pursues the best that modern dental technology has to offer.
When not working at Norwood Dental, Jan enjoys golfing, bowling, gardening, reading, and helping with various church projects. Jan, her husband Brian and two sons, Eric and Brad, have made a home in Norwood/Young America and enjoy the friendly small town community.
Deb Prchal, Scheduling Coordinator
Deb was born and raised in Carver County, Minnesota on a dairy farm with eight siblings. She graduated from Central High School. She started working in the Dental Field with Dr. McCarthy in 1984 and continued working with him for 12 years, in 1997, Dr. McCarthy sold his practice to Dr. Dan Ross.
Deb is instrumental in helping patients feel welcome at Norwood Dental. Her kind and cheerful demeanor make her an irreplaceable team member. Deb enjoys working with the public, meeting new people and helping patients understand the importance of dental health and how it is an integral part of total health. In 2000, Deb was given a complete smile makeover by Dr Ross and this experience helped her to gain firsthand knowledge of how the latest dental technology can change lives. Her results can be seen in the “before and after” smile makeover page of our website.
Outside of dentistry, Deb enjoys fishing and gardening, and spending time with her husband Allan and their children and being a new grandma..
Sara resides in Sibley County with her family. Sara is a graduate of South Central Technical College where she received an Administrative degree in 2002.
Sara enjoys the relaxed atmosphere of her co-workers and also the challenges associated with her position. The atmosphere of teamwork is a large part of why she enjoys her work environment.
In her spare time, Sara enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her two little girls. She enjoys playing volleyball, golfing and spending time outdoors.
